About

Hi, my name is John and I’m a SF/F/H writer. “Hi, John!” No, no, it’s not that kind of confessional. I just realized, though, that it’s been four years since my last… update of this page. See what I did there? I have this problem where I think I’m clever sometimes. At any rate, it’s been four years of sending out stories to websites, anthology calls and magazines, hoping for good fits/ good timing, while improving my writing. I think I’ve accomplished some of that, having had accepted a few dozen stories (and a poem!) which can be found on Amazon and other online book retailers, some websites and even in print.
I started doing NaNoWriMo online writing challenge in 2003 and kept up with it, winning the first ten times. I’m currently looking at reviving some of those ideas and near-novels for publication, but as a writer friend told me after I struggled the last few years with crazy schedules and an increasing number of children (three! Yay twins…!?) I’ve nothing left to prove and it’s not really helping me any more, so I will likely leave off that option for now.
I feel like it’s time to change courses, to work on my novels, as I said, old and new. To that end, I’m trimming the number of cold calls I’m working and have set up a Patreon. If you like what you read here on the blog and what you may have read elsewhere, please consider helping keep me at the keyboard.

Thanks!
